Friends, we regret to inform you that we have decided to cancel Nor’easter XXIV in the best interest and health of our ASL comrades. This was an extremely difficult decision. We are certain that all attendees would have passed a PMC and attended. However, after much discussion, we unanimously agreed we would rather be safe than sorry. None of us could live with the fact if a single attendee became sick due to attending our tournament.
This is the first time a Nor’easter has even been cancelled. This event has gone on even during an actual nor’easter! But the situation happening in our country today is of a unique nature and the risk is more than to a single individual. Let us hope this will be the only time the premier ASL event in New England is cancelled.
In practical terms, here is important information for those who already registered and/or paid for Nor’easter XXIV and for those who booked a hotel room at the Hampton Inn in Fairhaven, MA.
Hotel:
The hotel will honor a cancellation request up to 48 hours before your check-in date. We recommend you call and cancel your reservations as soon as possible. The main phone number for the hotel is 508-990-8500. If for any reason you have a problem getting a satisfactory result, ask for Jaclyn Rowely; the Sales Manager. If you still do get a satisfactory result, please contact Carl Nogueira (chnogueira@aol.com).
Tournament:
We will be issuing a full refund to all who registered and already paid. Those individuals will be receiving a separate email and eventually a check via U.S. Mail. If one paid for a t-shirt and still wants it we will send it out to you at our expense. Otherwise, let us know and we will refund the t-shirt money as well.
This was an extremely difficult decision and it is unfair it had to be made. But we feel it is the right decision as we really care about the health of our comrades and their families. Thank you to everyone who was planning on attending and we hope to see you at Nor’easter XXV which will be a true celebration for all of us.
